Sleep Well: Supporting Better Sleep Across Lincolnshire

Oct 7, 2026

Would you like to learn more about sleep?
Would you like to understand your own sleep patterns and explore ways to improve your sleep routine?

If the answer is yes, then we at Lincolnshire Sleep Hub,  could help you take the next step towards better nights and brighter days.

This November, the Lincolnshire Sleep Hub is running a series of Sleep Well courses across the county, as well as online, offering people the opportunity to learn more about their own sleep in a friendly, supportive environment.

The four-week courses created by Caroline Horton professor of Sleep and Cognition and founder of The Sleep Well programme and Elaine Mitchell Project officer at the Lincolnshire Sleep Hub are designed to help you develop a better understanding of sleep and the factors that can influence it. Over the four sessions, you’ll be introduced to a range of practical tools to help you monitor and understand your own sleep, identify what might be affecting it, and explore ways to develop a healthier and more sustainable sleep routine.

And because good sleep isn’t just about what happens at bedtime, each session will also introduce a dedicated relaxation technique. These techniques can be practised independently and may help you relax, switch off and prepare your mind and body for sleep. Each course host is not only a trained Sleep Talker but is an expert in their field of wellbeing and relaxation.

A supportive approach to better sleep

The Sleep Well courses are delivered in small groups in community venues across Lincolnshire, as well as online. They are designed to be practical and supportive, giving you the opportunity to reflect on your own sleep, try new approaches and make realistic changes that work for you.

Participants are asked to attend all four sessions, be motivated to put the agreed sleep routines into practice, and engage with the course in a supportive and professional way.

Sleep is worth investing in

Sleep can sometimes feel like something we simply have to put up with — particularly when our nights aren’t going as we’d like. But understanding how sleep works, recognising the things that may be influencing it and having practical strategies to try can make a real difference.

The Sleep Well course isn’t about promising a quick fix or telling everyone to follow exactly the same routine. Instead, it provides the knowledge, tools and support to help you explore your own sleep and make positive, manageable changes.

Whether you’re curious about why you sleep the way you do, want to understand your sleep patterns better, or feel ready to make some changes to your routine, the course could be an opportunity to give your sleep the attention it deserves.

Listen and learn more

If you’d like to find out more before signing up, Elaine will be joining Chris Kirkwood on LCRFM’s Community Hour on 20th October at 6.00pm.

Elaine will be talking about all things sleep, as well as discussing the forthcoming Sleep Well courses and what participants can expect from the programme. It’s a great opportunity to hear more about the importance of sleep, discover some practical ideas and find out whether a Sleep Well course could be right for you.
Not forgetting sharing her eclectic taste in music and yes, Rick Astley gets a mention.

Could Sleep Well be right for you?

If you are free and willing to spend a couple of hours each week over four weeks, and you’re motivated to explore and improve your own sleep routines, we’d love you to consider joining us.

The Sleep Well courses offer a chance to pause, learn, reflect and make positive changes — one night at a time.

Please note that if you have a diagnosed sleep disorder, or suspect that you may have one, you should consult your GP in the first instance. The Sleep Well course is intended to support people in understanding and improving their sleep routines, rather than replacing medical assessment or treatment.
